Integra Introduces its First Blu-ray Player

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ (10/06/08) -- Integra has introduced its first Blu-ray disc player, the DBS-6.9, which delivers the ultimate in high definition performance, including 1080p Deep Color capable video and bitstream output of the latest high-resolution audio codecs.

The DBS-6.9 delivers full 1080p video at 24 frames per second, the native frame rate for most original motion pictures and HD content. This ensures that the user will be able to experience the playback of films recorded to Blu-ray with the smoothest, most stable reproduction possible. It features an HDMI v. 1.3a output, and is fully compatible with the Deep Color™ standard for over 1 billion possible colors. The HDMI connection also delivers bitstream output of both Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™ codecs for decoding in compatible processor or receiver, such as Integra's DTR- series of AV receivers, or the recently introduced DHC-9.9 preamplifier/processor. 

The DBS-6.9 includes a front-panel SD card slot, necessary to take advantage of the Bonus View™ picture-in-picture capability, giving consumers access to the interactive content available on many Blu-ray discs. It is compatible with legacy DVDs as well as Blu_ray discs, including internal video upscaling to 1080p. It is also capable of playing CD, Video CD, CD-R/RW, DVD±R/RW, DivX, WMA, JPG and even MP3 encoded discs.

The DBS-6.9 is currently available at a suggested retail price of $600.

Wireworld Introduces Composite Cable Technology with new Flagship Platinum Eclipse Interconnects

COOPER CITY, FL (9/17/08) -- Wireworld has introduced a new flagship audio interconnect cable featuring Composite Dielectric Technology (CDT™) and the world’s first molded carbon fiber connector housing. This cable represents a new addition at the top of the brand's line, rather than an upgrade of an existing model.

The Platinum Eclipse interconnect’s four flat conductors are made of Ohno Continuous Cast solid silver of the highest purity available, 99.99997% (6N). The internal design is the DNA Helix geometry utilized by the other interconnects in Wireworld’s Eclipse series, however its flat conductors contain substantially more silver than the lesser models, and they are also thinner, which reduces phase shift. The Platinum Eclipse interconnect also utilizes a new innovation that we call Composite Dielectric Technology, which utilizes a proprietary mixture of specialized materials to minimize noise and dielectric interaction more effectively than any conventional insulation material. CDT improves low-level resolution, focus and micro-dynamics to levels beyond the capability of conventional insulation materials.

Integra Ships Mid-line THX Ultra2Plus and Select2Plus AV Receivers

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ (9/18/08) -- Integra, the first company to build audio-video receivers designed specifically for custom installers, has announced that it is now shipping two new receivers engineered to meet demanding technical requirements of THX's new Ultra2 Plus and Select2 Plus certification standards. Both have 1080p video upscaling and advanced two-zone capabilities.

The Integra DTR-7.9 is THX Ultra2 Plus certified for large-room applications with a powerful 130 watts-per-channel amplifier, five HDMI inputs, and upscaling for component video inputs. The Integra DTR-6.9 is THX Select2 Plus certified with 100 watts per channel and four HDMI inputs. Both include the new THX Loudness Plus processing which improves the listener's aural experience at moderate and low volume levels.�

These receivers use Audyssey's highly regarded MultEQ room correction technology to automatically set optimal speaker levels and time delay for any given room. They also add Audyssey's new Dynamic EQ circuitry, which corrects the surround channel equalization and level relative to volume levels.

As the audio and video control centers for advanced home theater installations, these receivers are fully compatible with HDMI v. 1.3a, including 1080p and Deep Color™ 36-bit video signals.
