I am trying to figure out what to ask for my excellent condition Pioneer 533HD rear projection TV.

Mitsubishi RPTV Model 55819 - green shadows

Good evening all,

I have a Mitsubishi 55" rear projection widescreen TV, model 55819, I think it was a platinum plus model. We bought it back in 2002, and had something convergence related replaced under the ABT warranty back in 2007 because the entire top of the picture would bow.

Unfortunately we recently began to notice green shadows to the right of images, especially white images. It's fairly obvious when we're watching football games. In the service menu grid, I can only adjust the blue and the red, but not the green. If I bow the red and blue to "cover up" and align with the green, it bandaids it a bit, but it's still noticeable when watching TV. I've tried switching inputs also and it doesn't matter which source we are on, we could be looking at DVD's or Netflix on our PS3, or tv/sunday ticket on our DirecTV HR24.

So, we love the TV and would like to fix it if possible. What does it sound/look like the problem is? What is involved in repairing it? Anyone have suggestions of service companies in the SW Chicago suburbs? Anyone have a ballpark of how much it would cost to fix?

Mits 65813 w/Lumagen HDQ Value?

I have a Mits WS65813 paired with a Lumagen HDQ video processor.
The two were professionally calibrated (and later tuned up) by Craig Rounds. Both are in perfect working order. The Mits still has a pristine PQ with no burn in. The DM caps have been replaced.
I am debating on moving up in size and technology with the new Sharp Elite 70" LCD/LED.
What would the value of my existing Mits/HDQ be worth to someone on this forum?

ViewHD to Mits WS-XX909

Has anyone had success driving either component video or RGBHV to the old Mits Input DTV 1080i port through the View HD HDMI to Component (or RGB) converter?

If so, please post your setup and timings.

I have a WS-73909 that has been a great TV for OTA HD, 480p component DVD, and a 480i ReplayTV through the built-in tuner and various 480i/p ports. Additionally, I have used the Input DTV port for 1080i component directly from a PS3 for BD. I am now trying to setup a 2011 MacMini as a media server but haven't had any luck getting a signal from its MDP (Thunderbolt) or HDMI to the TV through the ViewHD. The ViewHD looked good by the reviews on Amazon but I've not been able to get it to work so far.

I have a VGA-RGBHV that I am going to try next, but would like to hear of someone else's success to shortcut the process if possible....

Question on cleaning a smoker's RPTV

I have an older Sony RPTV that came from the house of a smoker. I think I have a handle on cleaning off the regular dust from the CRTs, but are there any special steps necessary to clean off smoking residue? Thanks.

Mitsubishi 65-813 Wavy Picture

My Mitsubishi Diamond 65-813 has a wavy picture. I turned the unit off and back on and for the first 8 - 10 seconds the picture is fine, then the image starts waving again. The unit was purchased in September 2004 and has been working fine since the control module was replaced following the blinking green light of death!

Any ideas?

Mitsubishi's 92 Inch 3D Rear Projection "Big Screen" at CEDIA

For many the form factor of a big screen TV still works and for those who want a big screen Mistubishi REALLY DELIVERS with their new 92 inch 3D set.

They have HDTVs ranging from 72 to 92 inches in their line up but its hard to argue that you can get this much video for this low of a price any other way. Perhaps with a projector and a screen but that's questionable.

My question to you is: are big screens dead now with the rise of large (cheap) flat HDTVs OR is $13,000 for an 85 inch Panny Plasma too much to ask when you can buy a Mitsu 92 inch this cheap.

What say you?
